Sensors & Hardware
The Max 875 Combo replaces iRobot's usual camera-based vSLAM with "ClearView Pro" dual-line LiDAR and PrecisionVision AI, claiming 300+ obstacle types. PowerSpin Max roller mop is 44% larger, spinning at 300 RPM with 18N pressure, plus ThermaMist stain pre-treatment and carpet auto-lift. AutoWash dock self-empties, washes, and dries the mop. Battery, capacity, and noise figures are unpublished.
Insights
Important context for this listing: iRobot filed prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy on December 16, 2025, and completed a court-supervised sale on January 23, 2026 to Shenzhen Picea Robotics — its own former contract manufacturer and largest creditor — with Nasdaq shares delisted and no equity for prior shareholders. The Max 875 Combo is the first flagship launched under this new ownership: buyers are now purchasing from a Chinese-owned subsidiary of iRobot's former manufacturing partner, not the original Nasdaq-listed company.
Firmware & Community
Closed platform — nearest projects don't cover this model
iRobot has not released a public SDK, firmware repo, or developer API for the Roomba Max 875 Combo. Its newer V4 protocol is explicitly not yet supported by dorita980 (the LAN-control library cataloged in Builds & Mods, which covers Roomba 600 series through Combo 10 Max), and the Roomba-MQTT-Integration project targets only older offline 600/700/800 models. Not currently listed in Builds & Mods.
Specs sourced from iRobot's own September 2, 2026 press release (media.irobot.com) and Engadget's launch coverage, as of September 2026. Battery runtime, charging time, dustbin/water-tank capacities, and noise level (dB) were not stated in either source and are omitted rather than estimated. iRobot's ownership changed via Chapter 11 bankruptcy and a January 2026 sale to Shenzhen Picea Robotics — noted above since it's directly relevant to buyers evaluating this brand. robotindex does not sell this product.
