Agility Robotics Digit 5
The fifth generation of Agility Robotics' warehouse-and-logistics humanoid, unveiled September 15, 2026 as a near-total redesign: human-like forward-bending knees replace the bird-inspired reverse-knee legs Digit has used since 2017, payload rises to 50 lb, and a fast-charge battery targets a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio for roughly 20 hours of daily work. It isn't shipping yet — early access starts in H1 2027 — and every Digit currently working at a customer site today is still the prior Digit 4.

Reference Price
No public price exists for Digit 5, or for any Digit generation — Agility sells only through negotiated enterprise contracts, generally structured as Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) rather than a purchase. Analyst estimates for the RaaS rate on the prior Digit 4 generation cluster around $8,500 per robot per month, and a roughly $250,000 one-time purchase price was reported for an early Digit unit around 2020, but neither figure is confirmed by Agility for Digit 5.
Insights
TechCrunch reported Amazon's Digit pilots "ended without announced next steps" around a round of Agility layoffs, and Agility's own 2026 SPAC filings describe Amazon only as "an active pilot partner," not a paying customer — treat any claim that Amazon is a current Digit customer with caution. Agility's claim of being "the first humanoid to pass an OSHA-recognized safety evaluation" is also real but narrower than it sounds — it covers only a site-specific Digit 4 field test, not Digit 5 or any finalized industry safety standard.
Firmware & Community
Closed platform — unofficial wrapper exists
Agility Robotics Digit 5 has not released a public SDK, firmware repo, or developer API; the only related public code found is a third-party ROS 2 workspace that installs a private "agility-pysdk" wheel to talk to Agility's own JSON API — not an official SDK or resource. Not currently listed in Builds & Mods.
Verified against Agility's own Digit 5 announcement and product page, PR Newswire, The Robot Report ("The Evolution of Digit" retrospective and its Digit 5 legs/battery/safety coverage), GeekWire, Forbes, TechRepublic, Businesswire's SPAC merger announcement, Contrary Research, TechCrunch's 2024 layoffs reporting, an independent SEC-filing analysis (digidai.github.io), and Automate.org. Flagged as lower-confidence or unconfirmed: the reported ~$400M/~$1.8B Series C figures; a ~16 degrees-of-freedom figure cited only by a third-party aggregator; the $8,500/month RaaS rate and ~$250,000 purchase price, both analyst estimates rather than Agility-confirmed pricing; and the "$300M+ in orders" headline, which traces to one conditional, related-party contract rather than diversified demand. This entry's tier remains "pending" because Digit 5 itself has not shipped to any customer as of this research.
